What data we collect
We collect only what is necessary:
- Email address, when you subscribe to our newsletter
- Name and email address, when you submit an experience enquiry form
- Name, if you provide it when contacting us directly
- Trip planning form submissions (Route Check and Full Itinerary): name, email, telephone number, country of residence, travel dates, group composition, accommodation and budget preferences, travel interests, and any additional notes or files you choose to attach
- Basic usage data via Google Analytics (pages visited, time on site, device type)
How we use your data
- Email addresses are used solely to send our newsletter, managed via EmailOctopus (EU servers).
- Experience enquiry submissions are used solely to respond to your enquiry. They are not added to the newsletter list without separate consent.
- Trip planning form submissions (Route Check and Full Itinerary) are used solely to prepare your personalised trip review or itinerary. Your details are not shared with third parties and are not used for marketing purposes unless you separately subscribe to our newsletter.
- Contact enquiries are used only to respond to you.
- Google Analytics data is used to understand how the site is used and improve content. IP anonymisation is enabled — we do not store full IP addresses.
Legal basis
- Newsletter: your explicit consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a))
- Enquiry forms and trip planning forms: legitimate interest in responding to you and delivering the requested service
- Analytics: legitimate interest in improving the site
Data retention
- Newsletter subscribers: retained until you unsubscribe
- Enquiry form submissions: retained for up to 12 months
- Trip planning form submissions: retained for up to 12 months. Uploaded files are delivered to us via email and are not stored by the form processing service.
- Analytics data: retained per Google’s standard retention settings
Your rights
Under GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Contact us at contact.goforexperiences@gmail.com. You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email.
Third parties
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We use:
- EmailOctopus — email delivery, EU servers
- Google Analytics — usage analytics, anonymised
- FormSubmit.co — trip planning form processing. FormSubmit transmits submissions to our email inbox and does not retain submitted data beyond 30 days.
Cookies
We use only functional and analytics cookies. No advertising cookies are set.
