As we entered the illustrious lobby of The Chedi Andermatt, we were immediately enraptured by its grandeur. The majestic interiors reflected an air of refined sophistication. A space where contemporary design seamlessly blended with timeless elegance. Every detail was meticulously curated, from the exquisite furnishings to the tasteful art pieces adorning the walls. It was a feast for the senses. A visual symphony that spoke volumes about the hotel’s unwavering commitment to unparalleled luxury. The interior design had great asian influence revealing itself in architecture cues borrowed from Asian temples.

Our anticipation reached new heights as we stepped into our diligently designed room at The Chedi Andermatt. The unique style and attention to detail were evident in every corner. From the plush furnishings to the tasteful décor. It was a haven of comfort and exclusivity. The warm hues and exquisite textures enveloped us in a cocoon of serenity, creating an intimate ambiance that was both inviting and indulgent. It was a true testament to the hotel’s dedication to providing an extraordinary stay that exceeded all expectations.

To unwind and rejuvenate, we ventured to the pools and spa of The Chedi Andermatt. The interior pool exuded an air of tranquility, where we luxuriated in its serene waters, allowing all traces of stress to melt away. The pool is elegantly open to the lobby which extends the feeling of lavishness. The exterior pool, nestled amidst the captivating Alpine scenery, offered a refreshing escape as we basked in the warm embrace of the sun. Both pools are heated so regardless of the weather you can enjoy a refreshing but relaxing break.

Moreover, the elegant design and meticulous attention to detail extended to the spa, where  a range of rejuvenating treatments are offered to help rejuvenate. The SPA is equipped with multiple Saunas, that provides great relaxing spot. The Gym is so spacious and well equipped such that sports lovers can spend hours here. All these features allow The Chedi to easily rank among the best SPA hotels of Switzerland. 

The Bar: A Haven of Creativity and Craftsmanship

Our evenings at The Chedi Andermatt were enriched by our visits to the captivating Bar. With its sleek design and inviting ambiance, it was a sanctuary of sophistication and relaxation. The skilled bartenders, or even better call them “mixologists”, assembled creative cocktails that teased our taste buds. Each sip a symphony of flavors. From classic coctails to innovative blends, the bar was a testament to the artistry and craftsmanship that went into every drink. It was an experience that awakened our senses and elevated our evenings to new heights.

Furthermore, The bartenders not only mastered the chemistry of blends, but also the art of entertainment. Each cocktail was a show on its own. From “ Up to the sky” topped with a helium cloud to the “6th Sense” with its the gum Oyster. The taste was even more striking then the look! To help choose which cocktail suits you better, there is a cocktail wheel that easily shows the sourness, sweetness, saltiness and spiciness of each drink. 

The Restaurant: Gastronomic Delights and Culinary Journeys

Dining at The Chedi Andermatt was an extraordinary gastronomic journey. “The Restaurant”, as simply called, has open kitchens that allowed us to witness the culinary magic firsthand. Observing with awe, as talented chefs prepared an array of delectable dishes. There are different kitchen spaces each specialised in a certain cuisine. The menu offered a fusion of Asian and Swiss/European flavors, each plate a masterpiece that delighted our palates. From  the Asian delicacies and noodles to European recipes, every bite was an explosion of taste and texture.

The lavish breakfast was also served in the elegant setting of “The Restaurant”.  Each morning, we awoke to a sumptuous breakfast spread that catered to all tastes and preferences. From freshly baked pastries to gourmet specialties, the hotel left no effort to ensure a lavish start for the day. The attention to details and quality of ingredients were unparalleled.

A remarkable highlight was the distinctive cheese room, where we indulged in a curated selection of artisanal cheeses. For an elevated experience this chase tasting can be perfectly paired with the finest wines from the hotel’s impressive collection. The cheese room is an elegant glass refrigerator that includes many Swiss cheeses, but also from across the continent. For cheese lovers it will be a heavenly thing to get locked in there!

During our stay, we enjoyed a leisurely lunch on the terrace of The Lobby, a culinary gem within the hotel. With breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, we savored delectable dishes made from the finest local ingredients. The impeccable service and idyllic setting made it a truly memorable culinary experience.

Exquisite Experiences Beyond Compare, The Morgan Drive

Our stay at The Chedi Andermatt was not limited to the luxuries within the hotel. It encompassed a range of extraordinary experiences that left memorable marks in our hearts. Each venture was carefully curated to showcase the splendor of Andermatt and its surrounding wonders, offering us a glimpse into the soul of this captivating destination.

One of the highlights was the exhilarating adventure of driving the iconic Morgan 2×2 along the winding mountain roads of Andermatt. With the wind in our hair and the majestic scenery unfolding before us, we immersed in a haven of nature’s beauty. The panoramic vistas that greeted us at every turn took our breath away, making this journey an unforgettable exploration of the alpine landscape.

To make this experience even more memorable, the fast changing weather of the region, insisted to have a role in this scene. On our first attempt to take this beauty (i.e the Morgan) out, the rain had another plan. After the first corner, the rain drops started pouring, and within few meters we realised that we will have full indulgence not only in Andermatt’s nature but also in its rain! We will never forget this ride!

Discovering the nature and culture

For those seeking a different kind of thrill, the hotel’s private golf courses provided an exclusive opportunity to engage in this timeless sport amidst the stunning backdrop of the Swiss countryside. As we swung our clubs, we enjoyed the sweeping vistas of rolling greens, snow-capped peaks, and pristine waterfalls. It was a golfing experience like no other, blending the joy of the game with the serenity of nature.

Moreover, to deepen our connection with the local culture and heritage, we embarked on a captivating village tour. Our guide was a knowledgeable local expert who shared fascinating insights into the region’s history and traditions. We strolled through the charming streets of Andermatt, lined with picturesque chalets and ancient landmarks. Meanwhile we went back in time, gaining a deeper appreciation for the rich heritage that shaped the Andermatt we see today.

Amidst our exploration, we also made a pilgrimage to the enchanting Göscheneralp Lake, a hidden gem nestled in the embrace of the Swiss Alps. The tranquil waters mirrored the majestic peaks that surrounded it, creating a serene and awe-inspiring atmosphere. We reveled in the solitude of this natural paradise, allowing the serenity to wash over us and rejuvenate our spirits.

All in all, from a leisurely lunch on the outside terrace of The Lobby, enjoying the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, to indulging in sumptuous dinners that left no culinary desire unfulfilled, every moment at The Chedi Andermatt was a celebration of luxury and refinement. The attentive staff, always ready to cater to our every need, ensured that our experience was nothing short of perfection.
